The Lottery was announced on Wednesday, January 12th, at 10:00 AM MT. All entrants have been notified via email.

You may register for the LT100 Run lottery as an individual or a group. A maximum of four family members, friends or teammates can click the group registration option. Group members will register individually, but be sure to use the exact same group name to signify being part of a group. This will mean that either your entire group will be successful in the lottery, or not, assuring that no one will be left out! Please note that if a member of your group has completed the LT100 Run under the designated sub-30 hour cut-off time ten or more times, they will be forfeiting their preference in the lottery.

2022 Leadville Trail 100 RUN Presented by La Sportiva

Due to high demand, we are unable to accommodate everyone that wishes to register for these races. Because of this, we will conduct a lottery selection process to choose which athletes may participate in the 2022 Stages Cycling Leadville Trail 100 MTB and Leadville Trail 100 Run presented by La Sportiva.

  • Athletes will have the opportunity to be entered into the 2022 Stages Cycling Leadville Trail 100 MTB and Leadville Trail 100 Run presented by La Sportiva from December 1st at 10 a.m. MST until December 15th at 11:59 p.m. MST. Registration for entry selection will be free of charge, but credit card information will be collected when you submit your entry and only charged if accepted into the race or if you choose to make a donation. A donation will not increase your chance of selection.
  • Selection and Payment of Entry Fees. Winning entries will be notified on January 12, 2022. Subject to eligibility requirements, the individuals whose names are drawn will be awarded entry into the 2022 LT100 MTB or LT100 Run. Selected participants will be notified by email in accordance with the information supplied and participant’s credit card will automatically be charged the registration fee, plus a processing fee and any add-ons selected.
  • All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable and subject to all other terms, conditions and restrictions of the Leadville Race.
  • Group Registration Details: The group registration option is recommended for family, friends and other small groups (up to 4 members) that ONLY want to race if they can do so together. The first athlete registering will be required to create a group name. It is essential for the remaining members sign up for the group with the group name matching exactly. For example, if your group name is “LeadvilleBigBuckles” the group name “Leadville Big Buckles” will not work. When the drawing selection takes place, the GROUP NAME will be the name entered in the drawing. If the group name is selected, every member of the group will be accepted and automatically charged the $475 registration fee (LT100 MTB) + applicable processing fees, or $375 registration fee (LT100 Run) + applicable processing fees.
    • Please note that if a member of your group has completed the LT100 Run under the designated sub-30 hour cut-off ten or more times or they have volunteered 10+ hours in the 2021 season they will be forfeiting their preference in the lottery.
  • Only one application per person. You cannot apply as an individual and as a member of a group. Any registration fees processed due to an individual submitting multiple applications are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Athletes with entry to the 2022 event are NOT allowed to enter the 2022 lottery. Any registration fees processed due to an individual submitting multiple applications are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • The entire selection and registration process shall be at the sole discretion of Life Time, whose decisions and interpretations shall be final and binding. Life Time reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the selection process or the event for any reason. Life Time reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it reasonably suspects or believes to be tampering with the entry process or to be acting in violation of these rules. Life Time shall not be responsible for incomplete entries or those that are not received by Life Time by the applicable deadline for any reason.
  • Are you looking for a way to bypass the lottery for the 2022 or 2023 LT100 MTB & LT 100 Run? Life Time members who have held a digital or in-club membership for at least 12 months (by 11/24/21) are eligible for early entry into the LT100 MTB & LT100 Run lotteries! In order to claim your preferred spot, you’ll need to register with your member number here (MTB) & here (Run). The deadline to claim early entry for Life Time members is 11/30/21.

If you are unsuccessful in the lottery process and still wish to participate in the LT100 Run, you have the option to race one of our qualifier events to earn your spot in. Each Leadville Qualifying Series race provides slots to the Leadville Trail 100 Run p/b La Sportiva, based on the total number of registered runners at each qualifier event. A percentage of qualifying spots will be allocated based on the top age-group performances, and another will be drawn among runners who have finished the qualifier race within the allocated cutoff time.

Qualifying races for the 2022 season include:

1. Qualification events will be allocated 25 slots, based on the number of registered runners.

2. 20 slots will be distributed based on performance in the qualifying event.

a. Slots will be distributed to each gender and age group (20-29, 30-39, etc.) based on the percentage of total athletes in those age groups, with a minimum of one slot for every age group.

b. The top athletes in each age group will receive the allocated slots.

c. In the event a top athlete elects not to accept a slot, the slot will roll down to the next athlete in the results within the age group.

d. In the event slots are not claimed after the roll down in each age group, those slots will be allocated to the Event Lottery, as described below.

3. Five slots will be distributed through the Event Lottery.

a. All finishers under the pre-determined maximum finish time who have indicated their desire to participate in the lottery will be entered in the lottery.

b. Names will be drawn from the eligible lottery athletes and slots will be given out.

c. In the event an athlete opts not to accept a slot, the slots will roll down to the next athlete that is drawn until ALL slots have been distributed.

4. Qualification slots must be claimed in person immediately.

5. Registration for the Leadville Trail 100 Run must be completed and paid for during the designated time offered.

6. For the 2021 Qualifiers, runners may elect to race the Leadville Trail 100 Run for 2022 or defer until 2023. Registration will happen on-site for either year, and payment will be assessed for 2022 or 2023. Through the registration process, runners will be asked to select the year they prefer to race.

7. Only solo runners competing the required distance under the allotted cutoff time will be considered as potential qualifiers.

8. All registration fees for the LT100 Run are non-transferrable and non-refundable.
