Media Information

All attending media are required to fill out the 2025 Media Credential Application.

All media will be required to attend an onsite media briefing. Media will receive:

  • Media Course Map
  • Media Booklet
  • Media Credential

Information about the event, course, and media best practices will also be provided at this time. You must be present in order to receive a media credential.

Filming in the City of Leadville:

If you plan to film within city limits, the Leadville Race Series will submit all commercial film packets to the City of Leadville. Please review the details below and submit your paperwork to Amanda Kussin (akussin@lt.life) by the deadlines provided. 

Filming on the LT100 Courses:

All approved media will be able to film content out on course under the Leadville Race Series event permit. We will provide media with the appropriate documentation at the media briefing. If you plan to fly a drone, please review the details below and submit your paperwork to Amanda Kussin (akussin@lt.life) by the deadlines provided.

Leadville Trail 100 MTB Media Information

Media Briefing Details:

All media will be required to attend the media briefing at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 8th, at 213 Harrison Ave.

Drone Regulations:

        • FAA Drone Pilot license required
        • Part 107 Drone registration (can be done online for $5)
        • Please follow all FAA regulations and guidelines

Please submit your pilot license and drone registration to Amanda Kussin (akussin@lt.life) by August 1st, 2025.

Filming in Leadville City Limits:

If you are in need of a commercial film/photography permit on top of the media credential, the Leadville Race Series will submit all applications to the City of Leadville. Please fill out the application below and submit it to Amanda Kussin (akussin@lt.life) by July 19th, 2025.

Do I need a commercial film/photography permit in Leadville?

Commercial filming refers to the recording of visual content (video or photography) intended primarily, but not necessarily exclusively, for commercial purposes — such as advertising, promotion, marketing, or profit generation — rather than for personal, educational, or purely artistic use. It typically involves the production of materials that will be sold, broadcast, streamed, or used to promote a product, service, brand, location, or company.

If you are filming for a personal use, you do not need a permit.
