
Media Information

All attending media are required to fill out the Media Credential Form.
If you plan to capture photo and/or video, you are also required to fill out the following:

- City of Leadville Film Permit
- National Forest Film Permit
- Drone Permit (if applicable)
Approved media will be required to attend an onsite media briefing. Media will receive:
- Media Course Map
- Media Booklet
- Media Credential
- Access to the content portal for event photos + b-roll
Information about the event, course, and media best practices will also be provided at this time. You must be present in order to receive a media credential.

Media Briefing Details:
All media will be required to attend the media briefing at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 8th, at 213 Harrison Ave.
Required Applications:
CREDENTIAL FORM IS NOW CLOSED | Due August 1st
If you plan to capture photo and/or video, please fill out the following applications that apply to you by July 18th.
- City of Leadville Film Application | Fill out the streets/areas within downtown Leadville where you plan on shooting. Please send your application to Amanda Kussin (akussin@lt.life). We will submit these to the City of Leadville.
- National Forest Service Film Application | Fill out the locations on course where you plan on shooting. Please send your application to Amanda Kussin (akussin@lt.life). We will submit these the USFS. Please leave the Land Use Fee section at the end blank – under the EXPLORE Act, all media will fall under the Leadville Race Series event permit and will not be required to pay land use fees.
- National Forest Drone Permit | Only applicable if flying a drone out on course.
Commercial filming refers to the recording of visual content (video or photography) intended primarily, but not necessarily exclusively, for commercial purposes — such as advertising, promotion, marketing, or profit generation — rather than for personal, educational, or purely artistic use. It typically involves the production of materials that will be sold, broadcast, streamed, or used to promote a product, service, brand, location, or company. Attending media fall under this category.
Approved Media Locations:
There are 5 official locations media can access with vehicles. Riders will hit each location twice.
- Outward Bound (GPS link)
- Pipeline (GPS link)
- Twin Lakes Singletrack (GPS link)
- Twin Lakes Dam (GPS link)
- Lost Canyon (GPS link)
Media cannot access Powerline, Columbine, Sugarloaf or St. Kevins.
