The Adirondack region in northeastern New York is a recreational paradise of high rocky summits and breathtaking vistas — both of which factor into the sadistic mountain bike race known as the Wilmington Whiteface 100K, part of the Wilmington Whiteface Bike Fest. Where Olympic heroes once skied down the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies, you will face a decidedly different direction. Straight up. Good luck with all that.
The race will start and finish at Whiteface Mountain and will explore the jeep roads near Jay and Saddleback Mountains before climbing up the front of Whiteface Mountain, which was the site of the 1980 Olympic Winter Games' downhill ski races — the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies. Make it to the top for unparalleled views from the summit of the Olympic Mountain.
Aid stations will be located approximately every 20km along the course (20km, 40km, 60km, 80km, finish). Each aid station will be stocked with Gu Energy Gels, Gu Chomps, Water, Electrolyte drink, fruit, and light snacks.

Those who do not
have a current qualifier time or
year prior LT100
As one of the most well known mountain bike races on earth, getting into the Leadville Trail 100 has always been difficult. LT100 Qualifiers are long and tough, with lots of climbing. They are similar to the classic course at Leadville in that they consist mainly of rugged jeep roads of gravel and dirt. A qualifier event could not only gain you entry into the LT100 MTB, but it could also boost your corral starting position in the Race Across the Sky!
In addition to a crazy climb, the Wilmington Whiteface 100 weekend packs in tons of fun! The Wilmington Whiteface Bike Fest features fun rides, bike stunt exhibitions, live entertainment, raffles & prizes, kids events, costumes, food and more. Click here to download schedule highlights and be sure to check back as race day approaches for the complete 2014 race schedule.
Awards Ceremony will take place approximately 30 minutes after final completion of the race. If you do not attend the award ceremony to receive your award you must send a check made out to the Leadville Race Series for $15 with the name, bib #, finish time and mailing address to:
Leadville Race Series
Attn: Malin Bengtsson
316 Harrison Ave.
Leadville, CO 80461
*Please note that awards will not be shipped until the end of our race series season, September 15, 2014.
Buckles and engraved bike rotor plaques will be awarded 3 deep in each division and to the top 3 teams. Age groups are male/female in 10 year increments (20-29, 30-39, etc.).
All riders will receive a custom head badge/bottle opener and participant T-shirt.
There will be trash and recycling containers at all full aid stations and the start/finish line. Please discard any trash in an appropriate container or within 100 yards of the aid station. Intentional littering on the course will be grounds for disqualification. The course – on trails both public and private – travels past many historic sites and through areas of exceptional beauty. Help us keep them pristine.
We will be recycling all plastic, aluminum and cardboard during these races, and all our events. We’ll take care of this at the aid stations. At the start/finish, please ensure you place trash or recyclable materials in the appropriate containers, which will be well marked.
For riders racing to secure a spot in the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, please see the Qualification System Rules.
